Description
Gate valves primarily serve to halt liquid flow rather than regulate it. When fully open, they present minimal hindrance to flow, resulting in low flow resistance.
Principle
The key component in a flat gate valve is the gate, which moves perpendicularly to the fluid's direction. Flat gate valves are designed for full-open or full-closed positions and cannot be adjusted or throttled.
The gate features two sealing surfaces forming a wedge shape, with the wedge angle varying based on valve parameters. The gate can be constructed as a solid piece, known as a rigid gate, or as an elastic gate capable of slight deformation to enhance processability and compensate for sealing surface angle deviations during processing.
Application
Sunrise's API 6D gate valves are suitable for pipelines with ANSI Class1502500, PN2042, JIS 1020K ratings, and operating temperatures ranging from -29425 ℃ (carbon steel) to -40~500 ℃ (stainless steel). They are utilized to isolate or connect media within pipelines, with options for various materials enabling compatibility with fluids such as water, steam, oil, nitric acid, acetic acid, strong oxidizing media, and urea.
